The Kakamega East Sub-County football final between archrivals Mukumu Boys High School and Shanderema High School will resume on Monday, June 8, starting from the 23rd minute, following its abrupt suspension due to fan disruption.
The highly anticipated clash, part of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) competitions, was halted on Sunday, June 7, at Mukumu grounds after fans invaded the pitch in chaotic scenes that forced match officials to abandon play for safety reasons.
At the time of stoppage, Mukumu Boys were leading 1–0, courtesy of an early goal by Solomon in the 23rd minute of the first half.

Tournament officials have since directed that the match be completed from the exact point it was interrupted. The remainder of the fixture will be played behind closed doors at an undisclosed venue, a measure intended to restore order and guarantee a fair and secure conclusion to the derby.
Authorities have not indicated whether additional disciplinary action will be taken following the crowd trouble, but emphasized that strict measures are being considered to prevent a repeat of such incidents in school competitions.
