The Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, has formally handed over contributions from Members of Parliament to support needy and deserving students at Thika High School.

The Ksh 2 million bursaries, contributed personally by MPs who are friends of the school, fulfills a commitment made during the school’s 70th Anniversary celebrations, which were graced by President William Ruto on May 15, 2026.

During the handover, the Speaker welcomed the Chief Principal of Thika High School, accompanied by the school’s student president and two deputies. The students also had the opportunity to observe proceedings from the National Assembly gallery.

The Ksh 2 million fund will benefit learners in Grade 10, Form 3, and Form 4. The donation is part of a broader Ksh 12 million commitment made by the lawmakers during the anniversary celebrations, with Ksh 10 million set aside for infrastructure development through the school’s Old Boys Association Fund.

Speaking to the students Wetang’ula urged them to uphold discipline, strive for excellence, and dedicate themselves to becoming productive and principled members of society.
