Ratanga Girls High School in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County is set to host a fundraiser event for the requiem mass and burial of its late principal, Mildred Achieng Ngesa.
The fundraiser will take place on the school grounds today Tuesday, June 2, commencing at 2:00 PM. For those unable to attend, financial contributions may be submitted via Pochi la Biashara to account number 0790769624 (Elsa Koyih).
Ngesa, who died on May 25, left the Homa Bay County and Ratanga Girls fraternity in mourning as shockwaves run deep through the broader Kenyan education sector.
Under her leadership, Ratanga Girls experienced noticeable advancements in both academic achievement and extracurricular participation.

In the wake of the announcement, a flood of tributes and condolences poured in from colleagues, education stakeholders, parents, and former students, many of whom credited her with shaping their lives and careers.
The Ratanga School community remembered the late principal as a dedicated educator who was much more than a leader. To them, she was a mother figure, mentor, and role model to countless individuals.
In a message of condolence, the school fraternity expressed heartfelt sympathy to her family, friends, and the wider education community.
“Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched,” reads part of the tribute.
