The Catholic Diocese of Kitale will on May 30 host its annual Education Day 2026 at St. Monica’s Girls High School in an event expected to attract hundreds of learners, teachers, clergy and invited guests from across the region.

The high-profile education fete, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., will be presided over by Bishop Henry Juma Odonya, who will serve as the chief celebrant and guest of honour.

Organisers said the annual gathering aims to celebrate academic excellence, spiritual growth and the role played by Catholic-sponsored schools in nurturing disciplined and morally upright learners.

This year’s theme, “Catholic Schools Rooted in Faith, Rising with Purpose,” reflects the Church’s commitment to providing holistic education anchored on Christian values, integrity and academic achievement.

The event is expected to provide a platform for school heads, teachers and clergy to reflect on ways of strengthening academic performance, mentorship and moral formation in Catholic institutions.

Activities lined up during the celebration include liturgical services, student presentations, choir performances and recognition of schools and learners who have excelled in academics and co-curricular activities.
