Mbeere North MP Leo Wa Muthende has raised concerns over the increasing cases of student strikes and unrest in schools across Mbeere North, calling for urgent interventions to restore stability and improve academic performance.

Speaking after a meeting at the Teachers Service Commission Regional Office in Embu, the MP said discussions focused on the growing unrest in learning institutions and the possible causes behind the trend.

During the meeting with Franklin Micheni Njue, the Regional Staffing Officer at TSC, concerns were raised that several schools have continued to record declining academic performance following the transfer of principals.

According to the leader, the changes in school administration have, in some cases, contributed to instability, dissatisfaction among communities, and increased unrest among students.

The meeting resolved that maintaining stability in schools should remain a priority as stakeholders work toward long-term and amicable solutions that protect learners and improve discipline and academic standards.

Leaders suggested that the status quo be maintained in the affected schools as consultations continue among education stakeholders, parents, and communities to identify sustainable solutions for the institutions.

Later, together with a delegation from the Mbeere North NG-CDF, the MP paid a courtesy call to Evans Mbugua, where they reaffirmed their commitment to supporting peaceful learning environments and strengthening collaboration with education officials.

Leo Wa Muthende said leaders will continue engaging education stakeholders to ensure schools in the region excel both academically and socially while promoting discipline and harmony within learning institutions.
