Police in Nairobi are investigating the death of a 22-year-old student from Murang’a University of Technology, Consolata Githinji, who died after falling from a sixth-floor apartment in Kileleshwa.
Preliminary reports indicate that Githinji had met a 33-year-old man, identified as Odhiambo, through a dating website. The two are said to have communicated online for some time before agreeing to meet in person.
Investigators say the student travelled from Murang’a County to Nairobi on Saturday, April 25, for their first meeting. She is believed to have gone directly to the man’s apartment in Kileleshwa, where they spent time together.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the following morning. CCTV footage places her at the building at approximately 4:16 a.m., shortly before the fatal fall.
