Roysambu Junior School is set to host its 2nd Annual Mathematics Contest on June 4, 2026, bringing together learners from across Nairobi and beyond in a celebration of academic excellence.
According to an official communication from the institution, the competition will kick off at 7:00 a.m. at the school’s premises in Roysambu.
The event is designed to nurture problem-solving abilities, strengthen critical thinking skills, and foster a positive attitude toward mathematics among students.
The contest is expected to attract participants from various schools, creating a competitive yet intellectually engaging environment.
The organizers say the initiative offers learners a valuable platform to showcase their mathematical capabilities while interacting and exchanging ideas with peers from different institutions.
Participants will compete across three categories—Grade 7, Grade 8 and Grade 9—with the syllabus covering coursework up to measurements at each respective level.

Each school is required to register a team of ten learners, drawn from the three grades, at a fee of Ksh3,000.
To enhance practical engagement, participants are expected to carry essential tools such as mathematical sets, while calculators will only be allowed for Grade 8 and Grade 9 contestants.
Education stakeholders continue to back such initiatives, highlighting their role in sharpening analytical skills and improving performance in mathematics.
Similar competitions, including national-level mathematics Olympiads, have been widely recognized for boosting learners’ confidence and creativity in solving complex problems.
Winners will be awarded on the same day, marking the highlight of what is anticipated to be a dynamic and enriching academic event.
School officials have urged interested institutions to confirm participation by May 18, 2026, as preparations gather momentum for the highly anticipated contest.
