The family of Polycarp Omari, a 22-year-old graduate from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), is appealing for help to retrieve his body from Vihiga County, where it was mistakenly buried.
Omari, who graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree, had gone to Nairobi to seek employment as a teacher. His disappearance led to a search, and his body was eventually found at the City Mortuary in Nairobi. However, it was later discovered that his body had been mistakenly taken and buried in Vihiga County.
The grieving parents, Ondieki Nyamosi and his wife, are urging the government and well-wishers to assist them in retrieving their son’s body and bringing it back home for a customary burial.
“We are appealing to the government and our elected leaders to intervene and help us access Kisii County Governor Simba Arati’s office for assistance,” said Ondieki.

Ondieki expressed disappointment that his efforts to reach area MP Obadiah Barongo for assistance were unsuccessful, with staff in the office telling him to keep checking without any concrete help.
He has now requested area MCA Timothy Ogugu to intervene and assist the family in reaching Kisii County Governor Simba Arati for any possible assistance.
The incident has sparked concern among residents of Eberege Village, who have experienced a series of bizarre deaths in the area, including the murder of a primary school teacher and the death of an expectant mother.
The family is seeking help from anyone who can assist in retrieving Omari’s body and bringing it back home.
