The National Youth Service (NYS) has called on persons with disabilities across the country to take part in its upcoming nationwide recruitment exercise scheduled for mid-March 2026.
In an official letter dated March 4, 2026, addressed to the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), the NYS said the recruitment will take place from Monday, March 16 to Saturday, March 21, 2026.
The service announced that the exercise will target both male and female volunteers and will be conducted at designated sub-county recruitment centres nationwide.
According to the letter signed by Director General James K. Tembur, the initiative aims to promote inclusivity, accessibility and equal opportunities for all Kenyan youth.
“The Service remains committed to the principles of equity, accessibility and equal opportunity for all Kenyan youth,” the letter states.

NYS has requested the National Council for Persons with Disabilities to mobilize and sensitize youth with disabilities within their respective counties so they can participate in the recruitment alongside other applicants.
Officials said the move is intended to enhance representation of persons with disabilities in government youth programmes and ensure they benefit from opportunities offered by the service.
The National Youth Service plays a key role in youth empowerment, skills development, and national development projects, providing training and employment pathways for young Kenyans.
