Narok Boys, the reigning County hockey champions on watch list as school games kick off

Former national hockey champions Narok Boys high school will be the team to watch as the Narok County secondary school Term One games get underway at Narok Boys and Maasai Girls sports grounds.

The school, which is also the reigning county champion, will compete in a round-robin format against Ololulunga Boys Secondary School and Eor Ekule Secondary School in the boys’ hockey category.

The former national champion is determined to bounce back strongly and use the county games as a springboard to regional and national success.

School senior principal Malcom Mateu said the team has prepared adequately and is focused on reclaiming its national glory.

“As former national champions, we understand the expectations placed on us. The boys are disciplined, committed and ready to compete. Our immediate target is to defend the county title and qualify for regionals,” said Mateu.

In girls’ hockey, defending champions Ole Tipis girls high school will face Naroosura Secondary School as they seek to retain their title and secure another appearance at the regional games.

Across other disciplines, the pools have been confirmed as follows:

In boys’ basketball, Pool A consists of Kisiriri Secondary School, Talek Boys Secondary School and Oloomirani Boys Secondary School. Pool B has OB Boys Secondary School and Ololulunga Boys Secondary School.

Pool C brings together Kilgoris Boys Secondary School and Narok High School, while Pool D features Eor Ekule Secondary School and defending champions Chebitoik Secondary School.

In girls’ basketball, Pool A includes defending champions Maasai Girls Senior, Kensington Secondary School and Maasai Girls Secondary School. Pool B has Moi Naikara Girls Secondary School, Pimbiniet Secondary School and Olashapani Girls Secondary School. Pool C comprises Kilgoris Girls Secondary School and Chebitoik Secondary School, while Pool D features Eor Ekule Secondary School and Kisiriri Secondary School.

Boys’ handball Pool A includes Nkorkorri Boys Secondary School and Chebitoik Secondary School. Pool B has Olmariko Secondary School and Narok High School. Pool C features Ntulele Secondary School, Kilgoris Boys Secondary School and Rongena Secondary School. Pool D consists of Ololulunga Boys Secondary School and Olorukoti Secondary School, with Ongata Baragoi Senior entering as defending champions.

In girls’ handball, Pool A has Ntulele Secondary School and Olorukoti Secondary School. Pool B includes Nkareta Secondary School and Olashapani Girls Secondary School. Pool C features Moi Naikara girls secondary school and Chebitoik Day secondary school. Pool D brings together defending champions Rogena Senior, Poroko Friends Secondary School and Oleserian Secondary School.

In rugby 15s, Pool A includes Moi Naikara Boys Secondary School and Saleita Secondary School. Pool B has Narok High School and Emurua Dikir Secondary School. Pool C features defending champions Poroko Friends Senior, Mogoiyuet Secondary School and Kisiriri Secondary School. Pool D consists of Ololulunga Boys Secondary School and Oldonyorok Secondary School.
