Western Kenya is set for an action-packed 2026 Rugby Fifteens season as Busia, Trans Nzoia, and Bungoma counties announce their pools ahead of the tournaments. In Busia County, the tournament pools have been updated ahead of the kickoff. Pool A features Nambale, Mundika, Kolanya, and Alupe, while Pool B includes Sigalame, St. Paul’s, Budalangi, and Butula. These teams are expected to produce intense early clashes as they compete for supremacy within the county.
Trans Nzoia’s tournament kicks off this Friday at Equip Institute. The teams have been drawn into four competitive pools. Pool A features Nambale, Mundika, Kolanya, and Alupe, while Pool B includes Sigalame, St. Paul’s, Budalangi, and Butula. Defending champions Bwake Boys are in Pool C alongside Saint Antony’s Kitale and Trans Nzoia School. Pool D comprises Mubere, Saint Joseph’s Boys, and Saint Marks. Coaches report that teams are intensifying preparations, focusing on fitness, tactics, and teamwork to start strong. Officials emphasize that the tournament is also a platform to nurture emerging rugby talent and promote sportsmanship among students.

In Bungoma County, the Rugby Fifteens tournament is set to begin on 5th March at Friends School Kamusinga. Pool A includes Bungoma High, Kamusinde Boys, Saint Antony Sirisia, and Kapkateny. Pool B features Bokoli Boys, Cheptais, Khasoko, and Naitiri Boys. Pool C has Kapsokwony, Mbakalo Boys, Teremi Boys, and Saint Mathews ACK, while Pool D comprises Friends School Kamusinga, Kibabii High, Netima, and Saint Peter’s Ndalu. Organizers highlight that beyond competition, the tournament is a critical platform for scouting young talent, fostering discipline, and promoting teamwork. Fans can expect high-intensity matches and moments of athletic brilliance.
