The recently elected Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) Kisii Organising Secretary Simeon Ongaga has thanked teachers for electing him and promised to serve them diligently and promote of sports in the region.
Ongaga clinched the seat after garnering the highest number of votes against his rivals during the recently held branch Union elections at Itierio high school.
The unionist who is also a trained and qualified referee in soccer was speaking at Sameta High School during the athletics sports clinic for secondary school games teachers.
He asked teachers to support students’ talents in sports through practical involvement to enable them realise their potential.

“Our learners value fun in everything they do. Let us embrace fun in our games but without compromise as we interact freely to mould our students into responsible citizens.” He said.
Ongaga who is a teacher of English and Head of Games Department at St. Joseph’s High School in Gucha South Sub county, expressed great optimism in integrating his long classroom teaching experience with enthusiasm to enrich and promote sports in the region.
