Incumbent retains Executive seat as new chair elected in Bungoma South KNUT polls

Newly elected Bungoma South KNUT officials after a peaceful and credible election exercise held at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Kanduyi, Bungoma County.

Kennedy Luketelo from Bumula has retained his position as the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Executive Secretary for the Bungoma South Branch.

This follows peaceful elections held at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Kanduyi Constituency, Bungoma County, on Saturday, February 14.

In the closely watched contest, Masai Dennis from Kanduyi was elected the new Branch Chairman, replacing outgoing chair Augustine Watamba. Moses Toili was elected Vice Chairman.

Other officials elected during the exercise include Metrine Makhapila as Kanduyi Women Representative, Benjamin Makokha as BEC representative for Bumula/Kabula, and Chris Wanjala as the new BEC representative for Sang’alo/Mwibale. Misiko clinched the Municipality seat, while Christine Nabibia was elected Women Representative for Bumula/Siboti.

Brenda Cheng’oli secured the Assistant Secretary position, Hemsline Wabomba was elected Treasurer, and Walter Khaemba took the BEC seat for Kimaeti/Siboti. Plantine Mwelu was elected Overall Women Representative, while Leah Kisaka was elected to represent Persons with Disabilities (PWD).
