The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. David Njengere has been appointed as the new Executive Secretary and CEO of Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA)
The Council takes over the Secretariat of the Association from the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ).
The handing over ceremony between Dr. Njengere and ECZ Executive Director, Dr. Michael M. Chilala (outgoing Executive Secretary) took place at the New Mitihani House in Nairobi earlier yesterday.
This has placed Kenya as the host of the AEAA Secretariat, which serves as the administrative hub for the Association.

The Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA),a non-profit organization established in 1982, promotes cooperation among examining and assessment bodies across the continent.
It also facilitates collaboration, research, and best practices in educational testing, comprising 21 active members.
AEAA hosts annual conferences focused on emerging trends like AI and, at the 42nd Annual Conference in 2026, aims to address, among other topics, the security dilemma of artificial intelligence
