CDE Mulili: Nakuru Senior Schools have admitted 85% Grade 10 learners

Nakuru County Director of Education Victoria Mulili have revealed that 42,365  Grade 10 learners have been admitted  to Senior Schools in Nakuru County.

She said that the number represent  85.7% of total number of Grade 10 leaners expected to transit to Senior Schools in the county, saying that the initiation have been enhanced by Ministry of Education officials in collaboration with Ministry of Interior and Provincial Administration officers in 11 Sub Counties of Nakuru County.

“We have already admitted 42,365 Grade 10  learners out of the 49,000 leaners; that is 85.7% of the total number of Grade 10 learners, who have already been admitted in Seniors Schools within the County where they are currently continuing with their learning smoothly,” said Mulili.

The Director added that Ministry of Education officials in collaboration with National Government Administration officers are mobilizing parents to ensure the remaining learners are admitted to Senior Schools.

She said that the Senior Schools provide at least two Pathways STEM being Compulsory in all Senior Schools.

The Directors added that all Schools have adequate facilities like Science laboratories to enable learners acquire the best practical skills in STEM.

“All senior  schools have laboratory and science teachers who are well prepared to teach all learners,” said Mulili.

She added that the Ministry of Education is committed to ensure the smooth transition of Grade 10 learners to Senior Schools in Nakuru County.

Elsewhere over 319  Grade 10 learners in Nakuru County have benefit from Elimu Scholarship.

The county Director of Education  Mulili said the learners have been admitted in Senior Schools of C1,C2,C3 and C4 Boarding Schools.

She urged parents of the learners to play the role of guiding the learners encouraging,  them to work hard and monitoring them to ensure they excel in their academic as they maintain high standards of discipline during their studies in the Senior Schools.

“We urged parents to play their key role of encouraging, monitoring them so that they can achieve the best in their Senior school, because it is through the grace of God that they are lucky to benefit from the scholarship and they should prove their capability through getting good results and maintaining  high standards of discipline ,“said Mulili

She encourage parents to regularly attend parents meetings and academic meetings in the schools where their children have been admitted to assist in improving their academic level.
