Missing Lwandeti JSS teacher found alive in Bungoma

Lwandeti D.E.B Junior Secondary School teacher Linet Joynah Ngome, who went missing earlier this week, has been found alive and is receiving treatment at Maxcare Hospital in Webuye, bringing relief to residents and leaders in Lugari.

Teacher Linet Joynah Ngome of Lwandeti D.E.B Junior Secondary School, who had been reported missing earlier this week, has been found alive and is currently receiving treatment at Maxcare Hospital in Webuye, Bungoma County.

Ngome was traced on the night of Friday, December 19, two days after her disappearance.

Details surrounding her condition and the circumstances leading to her hospitalisation have not yet been officially disclosed.

Her disappearance had triggered heightened concern, culminating in protests on Friday afternoon when residents of Lwandeti took to the streets and staged demonstrations at Nzoia Bridge in Lugari, Kakamega County.

Earlier, on Thursday, Lugari Member of Parliament Nabwera Daraja Nabii had issued an urgent public appeal following Ngome’s disappearance. In a statement dated December 18, the legislator said the junior school teacher had reportedly gone missing from her matrimonial home under unclear circumstances.

Her vehicle was later discovered parked near her ancestral home, with her clothes found inside, developments that raised serious concerns about her safety and whereabouts.

The MP had said that the situation as deeply troubling and confirmed that he had formally engaged officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Matete and Kakamega to pursue investigations and establish the facts urgently.
