Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has challenged more than 4,000 graduates of the Bungoma National Polytechnic to embrace innovation, creativity and disciplined living as they step into an increasingly competitive job market.
Speaking during the institution’s inaugural graduation ceremony in Sang’alo, an event graced by Principal Secretary for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Dr. Esther Thaara Muoria, Lusaka said Kenya’s future depends on a generation of skilled thinkers capable of driving economic transformation.
“Today is a day of triumph and fulfilment,” he said. “As you graduate, go out with the confidence that you are ready to work, ready to lead, ready to innovate and ready to be the generation that lifts communities, transforms industries and shapes Kenya’s future.”
Lusaka cautioned the graduands against destructive behaviour, noting that drug and substance abuse continue to cut short the dreams of many promising young people.

“Do not allow drugs, substance abuse, irresponsible behaviour or negative peer influence to compromise your destiny,” he warned. “Your future is too valuable to gamble with.”
The Governor highlighted the strong cooperation between the county and national governments in improving infrastructure and safety at the institution. He said the county is installing additional high flag-mast lights around the campus to enhance security for learners.
“The County Government remains committed to improving safety within this institution,” he said. “The new flag-mast lights will ensure students can study, socialize and move freely without fear.”he added.
