Kaimosi varsity  hosts 2025 Tamasha Festival to celebrate culture, talent, and community spirit.

Kaimosi Friends University on Wednesday, November 26 hosted a momentous ceremony, the Tamasha Festival 2025, in a week-long celebration of culture, talent, and community spirit.

The festival, which runs until Friday, drew students, staff, and guests to a vibrant display of artistic expression and unity at the heart of the institution.

Gender Principal Secretary Dr. Jane Kere Imbunya who officially opened event, commended the university for positioning Tamasha as a platform that goes beyond entertainment, describing it as a space that nurtures cultural brilliance, sporting excellence, and holistic growth. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting youth development and public sector reforms, noting that such initiatives complement the government’s broader human capital agenda.

The event also spotlighted a historic milestone for the university the inauguration of Prof. Peter Mwita as the first Vice Chancellor. Leaders and stakeholders celebrated his appointment as a turning point for the institution, crediting him with ushering in a new era of accountability, innovation, and strategic growth.

Under Prof. Mwita’s leadership, the university has recorded notable progress. Key achievements highlighted during the ceremony included the launch of state-of-the-art Anatomy and Optometry Laboratories, the accelerated construction of the modern library now at 73 percent completion, strengthened financial governance frameworks, improved Performance Contracting ratings, and early steps toward establishing a Cultural and Research Centre.

PS Imbunya praised these developments as evidence of bold and transformative leadership, stating that they position Kaimosi Friends University as an emerging academic powerhouse in the region. As the Tamasha Festival 2025 unfolds, the institution stands energized, embracing a renewed sense of direction driven by cultural celebration, academic ambition, and community pride.
