The Education Cabinet Secretary, Julius Ogamba has assured parents that the government has put measures in place to ensure a smooth transition of learners from Grade 9 to Grade 10.
Speaking in Nyamira recently, CS Ogamba told teachers and parents not to worry about anything but rather prepare their children for the transition in January.
“The government is prepared for the transition and if there are challenges, they will be addressed” Ogamba told the congregation.
He further noted that the government has started constructing Nyamira University at Kiabonyoru ground and will admit the first cohort of university students in September.
He lauded the government for retraining teachers for the Competence Based Education (CBE), adding the education system is successful.
Ogamba also asserted that the government has employed 76,000 and 24,000 more will be employed to cope with the increasing number of students in schools.
