Dr. Wilkins Ndege Muhingi, a Lecturer at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), has been ranked second in Kenya in Social Work research by the AD Scientific Index 2026.
The AD Scientific Index evaluates scholars using the H-index, which measures the number of contributions to books and journals, and how often these materials are used by other researchers.
A higher H-index reflects not only extensive publication but also consistent citations by peers, which reflects influence, relevance, and impact in the field.
Dr. Muhingi’s recognition stems from his diverse research contributions in areas including Child Safeguarding and Protection; Decolonization and Indigenization of Social Work; Clinical Interventions and Therapeutic Models; Gender-Based Violence; Gender and Development Issues; Assistive Technology; Digitization and Social Work; Climate Change; and Domestic Work.
His academic contributions include three co-authored book chapters, published by Springer, Routledge, and Cambridge, which have significantly advanced knowledge in the social sciences, particularly within the African context.
