Meru County is buzzing with musical talent as the Kenya Music Festival 2025 officially begins.

The music extra bonanza is being held under the theme “Enhancing the Creative Economy through Artistic Expression for Sustainable Development”.

The festival focuses on nurturing creativity and artistic talent among students while promoting sustainable development and national cohesion.

The two-week event, scheduled from August 3 to 16, 2025, will feature students from across Kenya showcasing their rich musical talents in various performances and competitions.

The festival will take place at Meru School and Kaaga Girls, with a packed schedule that includes eight days of action, a Gala concert and a State Concert wrapping up the event.

This prestigious event offers a platform for students to showcase their musical talents, with top performers set to represent Kenya at the East Africa Music, Dance & Drama Festival in Arusha, Tanzania.

The festival promises to be an exciting celebration of music, culture, and talent, eagerly anticipated by music enthusiasts and fans of student talent alike.

The high-profile event has also opened up opportunities for traders in Meru town, as many businesses are expected to be flooded with more customers as visitors flock into the city.

However, traffic snarls have started to be experienced with the arrival of school buses, which paint the roads yellow.

This will also translate to a high preference for bodaboda dependency, as it will be the fastest and most reliable means of town service operations.
