Kilungu Sub-County director of education Kirimi Miriti has urged teachers to uphold the highest degree of sports integrity in order to nurture raw young talents.

Speaking at Akatch stadium during Kilungu sub county ball games, he called upon teachers to embrace virtues so that learners can emulate.

“For real how do you cheat as a teacher, Imposters in our fields must stop to allow talents from our young learners to be nurtured,” he said.

However not yet in sub county games, Miriti said that they are keen and when noted necessary action shall be taken.

“We are registering players through NEMIS and fill in some documents to ensure they are pure players, though we’re keen for any case,” Miriti revealed.

He encouraged learners to fully participate in cocurricular activities adding that they are very critical and key in CBE implementation.

“Sports itself is a career and it makes learners’ mind to be alert in class besides other benefits,” Miriti said.

He however lamented of the challenging terrain of Kilungi, which he said doesn’t allow players to have the right pitches.

“Our fields don’t have the standards needed. Climate here is very cold and our children still get challenged when playing outside in hot climate,” Miriti said.

He added that enough finance is needed to motivate teams and coaches to oversee the activities..
