The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has announced a temporary shutdown of its student financing portal for maintenance just days after reopening it for new applications. The system, which had become accessible to applicants on Monday, was taken offline to allow technical improvements aimed at enhancing user experience.
The closure affects both First-Time and Subsequent applicants who were in the process of submitting their applications causing widespread concern among university and college students relying on HELB support to continue their studies.
In a statement released via HELB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the agency confirmed the downtime and urged students to remain patient while system enhancements are carried out.
