Kitutu Masaba Constituency has so far disbursed Kshs 43 million to support 14,367 secondary school needy students.
The area MP Ombane Gisairo said that the money was shared equitably to 773 institutions where students are learning. “We allocate this funds according to needy assessment report in the application forms,” he said.
The MP was speaking at Tombe location when he presided over the opening of the Chief’s office that was constructed using NG-CDF funds.
He said his office gave second priority to the construction of decent security offices after education because security and education go hand in hand.
“Without security our schools will not run peacefully that is why we decided to prioritize education, security and transport as the main steering wheel for our Constituency development.” He said.

The MP assured the residents that he stands against the proposal to scrap NG-CDF because it plays a big role towards assisting children from disadvantaged families to access education.
During the session, residents took time to express their views about the NG-CDF kitty.
Keronge Town School Principal Ezra Nyasani testified on the positive impact the kitty has made to communities and asked the parliament Assembly to incorporate it the constitution.
He said that the funds from NG-CDF and NGAAF have bridged the gap between children from poor home background and those from wealth homes because it supports the poor t to have a chance to compete favorably with their colleagues from advantaged homes in a level ground of academics.

The principal’s message was echoed by speaker after in the meeting especially primary school teachers who said the use the money to solve urgent financial needs in their institutions when the Ministry of education delays to release capitation money to their institutions.
