Makueni branch Kenya union of post primary education teachers (KUPPET), executive secretary has criticized the Deputy Inspector General of police action of stepping aside following the death of teacher Albert Ojwang in the police cell.
Speaking at Kalulini secondary school during the term two county games, Justus Kimeu noted that stepping aside of deputy inspector general of police Eliud Lagat is not enough and that they need him to face the law.
He called upon IPOA to fasten the investigation so that if the DIG is involved the law takes its course.
Kimeu added that teachers are opinion shapers and should not be threatened at all or intimidated adding that what happened to Ojwang should not be repeated at all.
“All the life’s matter, we are ready to go to streets if called upon. Justice must prevail,” Kimeu said.

He was accompanied by the chairman Erastus Kimetu-brigadier who echoed his sentiments.
Commenting on the games he noted that they will do away with imposters noting that only those who are eligible will play the games.

“We blame ourselves as teachers. Why is it that we allow ineligible players to play eligible games? Underage are also being involved in games that don’t suit them. Let’s check on this,” Kimetu noted.
The chairman noted that there are many students who are scouted but they hide themselves since they know they don’t qualify as students but imposters.
He called for use of students documents to verify every player.
