Officials overseeing the National Government Constituency Development Fund in Emurua Dikirr have been cautioned against lack of transparency in the allocation of bursaries.
NG-CDF Chairperson Evans Cheruiyot said bursary funds, being public resources, must be distributed fairly and equitably to benefit all deserving residents.
Speaking during the launch of the bursary selection process, Cheruiyot said he will closely monitor the exercise to ensure it meets the highest standards of integrity.

“I will closely monitor the exercise to ensure it meets the highest standards of integrity. Transparency must be observed,” he said.
He issued a stern warning to any officials found engaging in corrupt practices, emphasizing that total orphans and vulnerable students should be given top priority.
“I will not hesitate to take action against anyone found manipulating the process. These funds must reach those who truly need them,” he stated.

Cheruiyot encouraged residents to attend NG-CDF cluster meetings to witness the selection process firsthand, further assuring the public that plans are underway to increase the bursary allocation in the near future.
His remarks came amid growing discontent from some sections of the constituency, where residents have accused area Member of Parliament Johanna Ngeno of sidelining them in the bursary distribution.
The disgruntled residents have threatened to stage protests, insisting that as taxpayers, they are entitled to equal access to public resources.
