Kajiado West MP George Risa Sunkuyia will on Tuesday be arraigned in court over forgery allegations, after he was arrested by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers.
The MP is accused of forging his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate indicating that he scored to a C+.
It is alleged that the lawmaker provided a fake diploma certificate from Mount Kenya University to the EACC during clearance to vie for MP position.

He was arrested by EACC detectives on Tuesday, May 27 and was processed at the Integrity Centre ahead of his arraignment.
The MP who was first elected in the year 2017, is accused of forgery contrary to Section 345 as read with Section 349 of the Penal Code.

“On 30th day of January 2012 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Juja within Kiambu County, knowingly and fraudulently uttered to the Registrar Academic Affairs JKUAT, a forged a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Serial No. 2988068, with a mean Grade of C+ purporting it to be a genuine certificate issued to you by the Kenya National Examination Council,” read the charge sheet seen by Education News.
Parliament website indicates that the MP has a Degree in Community Development & Social Work from Mount Kenya University which he was awarded in the year 2022.
He also has a Diploma in Community Development & Social Work from the same university; he sat for his KCSE in the year 2015 at Kiserian Education Centre.
