Lodwar High School Principal Patrick Lokwayen has released over 100 withheld certificates, following a government directive.

He urged parents to collect them and emphasised that no child should be denied opportunities due to poverty.

The move, praised by stakeholders, sets an example for other schools.

The government, through the Ministry of Education, directed school principals to release the withheld certificates to students so that they could proceed with their learning.

The directives never settled well with many school heads, who claimed that releasing the certificate could deny schools funds held by students in the form of fees arrears.

The principals conquered different education stakeholders as the national assembly Education committee pushed for the government’s directive to be followed and certificates released to learners without delay.
