Three Teachers Service Commission (TSC) County directors and one regional director have been affected by fresh changes made by the teachers’ employer.
In the latest changes, the Rift Valley Regional Director, Alex Cheruiyot, has been transferred to TSC headquarters and swiftly replaced by the Kisumu County Director, Dr Samwel Marigat.
Education News has now learnt that Cheruiyot has been deployed to the TSC Secretariat as the Deputy Director at the Directorate of Administration.
He will deputise Ibrahim Mumin, who has served in the docket for nearly two decades.
According to sources at the TSC headquarters, Cheruiyot was due to retire towards the end of this year, and this transfer came as a shock to many who thought he would leave the position.
Also affected by the latest realignments is Joseph Atwoto, who now shifts camp from Kericho to Kisumu. He will replace Dr Marigat, who has since been promoted to RD.
Carolyne Nandi, the Deputy Director in Migori County, has been promoted to full director and posted as the new Kericho boss.
