Champs Senetwo basketball team given a heroic welcome

It was sweet moment full of praise and encouragement for the West Pokot Senetwo Basketball team as players given a rousing welcome after their excellent performance at the regional and National Basketball competitions held in Bomet and Mombasa respectfully.

The young, talented and skilled players used their talents maximally to out shine their opponents.

Back to the county the team was taken around Makutano town and Chepareria urban centre before proceeding to school where they received a standing ovation from parents, teachers and visitors who were dancing and singing praise songs to the heroine

The much disciplined players under the sponsorship of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale led by Bishop Henry Juma Odonya were blessed and prayed upon by senior catechist Mathew Kamurket of Christ the King church who said that actually this is the work of God.

The Head of institution Emmanuel Lokudia who also doubles as the coach said that its team work that took them that far.

“I do request the West Pokot County Government and well-wishers to construct a modern facility and equip the team with quality Basketball tools as his players have demonstrated that they can go internationally” Lokudia said.

The KNUT assistant executive secretary Rusii Joseph and also a head of institution who led the cheering squad said that CBC clearly supports co- curricular activities.

The school BOM chair Joel Lotikama also praised the team and said that BOM will continue to support the staff and school for the benefit of the learners.

Mathias Mnangat the Senetwo Location chief also congratulated the story team said that the team is the pride of the North Rift Region.

Lilian Chepengat the Lay pastoral council member at the Catholic Diocese of Kitale on behalf of the of the Sponsor also congratulated the team

In addition, Emmanuel Lokudia the HOI Senetwo Comrehensive School thanked his technical coach and trainers including Brenda Tiron and Kon Nul for inspiring the team.

He also thanked County Executive Commettee, (CEC) for Education West Pokot County Rebecca Lotuliatum and the West Pokot County Government for the great support for the team.

At National level the team defeated Western 42:38, and the team was ranked position 5 nationally.
