Needy students in Narok West advised to apply for bursary

Narok West MP Gabriel Tongoyo has told parents to ensure that their children apply for bursary on time so as to benefit from the money that is committed to support their education.

He assured parents that all deserving secondary school students who will apply for NG-CDF bursary in the constituency will get KSh10,000 to continue with their education.

“Those who failed to education bursary fund support from the county will be given priority and then others will follow,” he said.

The MP said that his office had allocated shillings KSh18 million that will be distributed equally among the three wards in his constituency to enable children from needy homes to access quality education.

He said that his office was working in partnership with the county government to ensure that all school leavers join the technical institutes to train in the career of their own choice and gain skills that will enable them to fit in the job market.

One of the past beneficiaries, Mary Kipsei, narrated how she was on the verge of dropping out of university but gained hope and continued with her education after receiving CDF bursary.

Mary, a third year Communications student student at Mara University appealed to students of all levels of education to seek help and get knowledge on how the National and county governments help their people because information is power.

Jackson Ole Napoi, a senior official in the county revealed the county administration has spent KSh450 million in this financial year to support the education with the lion’s share going to the improvement of infrastructure in the ECDE section and bursary to students in higher education.
