Good news as newly confirmed teachers to receive salary in month’s time

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is in the process of converting 46,000 intern teachers to Permanent and Pensionable terms.

This will result into the confirmed teachers receiving their salaries in 30 days’ time.

In a letter dated January 7, 2025, TSC Secretary Kenneth Marangu said that the Commission is in the process of confirming the teachers upon reporting.

Marangu indicated that to ensure timely updating the payroll of confimed teachers on new terms, three directorates namely Staffing, Human Resource Management and Development and Administrative Services (Records Management) held a meeting and resolved that staffing directorate will prepare and share all the 46,000 teachers with accurate bio data and also will mobilise County Directors to ensure entry exits reports are submitted promptly.

The records management will as well ensure that APPTI forms and Offer of Employment letters are dully filled in the files of the teachers and then physical files submitted to Human Resource for processing.

Upon the receipt of the entry exit reports and the teachers’ files, Directorate of Human Resource will ensure prompt on-boarding on payroll of all the teachers.

The three directorates had sought and got approval for 30 days overtime to ensure that the exercise is expedited within the timelines.
