Kegati DEB Comprehensive School in Nyaribari Chache of Kisii County was forced to convert their end of term practical examinations into theory after their computers were stolen.

According to the head teacher of the school Thomas Mokaya, the subject teacher came to school on Thursday morning to give a practical exam, only to find all the computers missing.

Kegati DEB Comprehensive School Principal shows where the burglars came through before making away with 28 computers.

“Both of us went to the room and found the roof broken through where the unknown people entered at night to steal the machines,” he said.

The school lost 28 computers, forcing the learners to write practical exams as theory papers, there being no time to prepare other exams before schools close next week.

They reported the matter to Kisii Central Police Station who started investigations immediately.

Kisii County Police Commander Charles Keses confirmed the incident, lamenting the high rate of crime in the area but sent a stern warning to the lawbreakers, saying that his security team will arrest them to face the law.

“Our officers have started investigations and we appeal to anyone with information that may help us to track the suspects to assist us,” he said.
