Several students from Moi University were injured Wednesday morning March 27 after their bus was involved in a road accident at Kimende along the Naivasha-Nairobi Highway.
According to reports, the students were on their way to Coastal city of Mombasa for an academic trip when the accident occurred.
It is reported that the driver of the bus was overtaking a lorry before trying to get back on the lane when he lost control leading the bus into a ditch.
The school administration has said no casualties were reported but few students sustained minor injuries.
The trip was cancelled and the students are currently on their way back to university.
Residents helped to rescue the students and driver before police and other emergency personnel arrived.
Also, some of the students jumped outside the bus through the windows as residents attempted to lift the bus to save those who may have been trapped underneath.
Two weeks ago, a bus belonging to Kenyatta University crashed in Voi, Taita Taveta County while also heading to Mombasa.
