Local leaders heap praise on little-known Webuye school for stellar results

Martin Wanyonyi, Webuye East MP, talks to students of St Francis Makemo when he visited to take a message of congratulation and goodwill following a good performance in 2023 KCSE.

Local leaders have heaped praise on St Francis Makemo Girls High School in Webuye East Constituency of Bungoma County for posting stellar results in the 2023 KCSE.

Led by the MP Martin Wanyonyi, the area leaders lauded the principal Rose Oyalo as a perfect example of how a school can become successful through instilling discipline in students.

The rising star managed to take 52 out of 96 candidates to public universities, having scored an average of 6.5 points.

“A mean score of 6.5 is no mean feat. St Francis Makemo is rising higher and my heart is here. You have done us proud and we shall continue to support you,” the MP said.

The lawmaker urged the students to aim at a similar feat in the 2024 KCSE, reiterating the importance of perseverance and determination.

He said the performance serves as an inspiring example of academic achievement in the constituency.

On her part, Oyalo said the early completion of the syllabus had done the trick, further citing motivation and sacrifice as the secret behind the good performance.

“Teamwork by students, teachers and parents played a key role in the school’s performance,” added the principal, thanking God, staff and parents for the excellent results.
