Calmn has returned to Nyabonge Secondary School in Sameta Sub-county of Kisii County after some teachers were locked out of by the community over poor examination results.
Trouble started after the release of last year’s KCSE results where candidates of the school performed dismally.
The community decided that the blame was on the teachers and pointed fingers on three of them for the poor performance.
They went ahead to pin notices on the school gate that warned the three not to step in the school when schools reopened last week.

Learning about the tension, Sameta police moved to the school and pacified the situation.
When Sameta Sub-county Director of Education Christine Ongwae was contacted, she admitted there was some commotion in the school when it reopened but called it an internal matter.

“It was a trivial matter between the community and the school and was settled,” she said.
Ongwae, who was flanked at her Sameta office by area Adult Education Officer Scolarstica Mogere, referred Education News to Kisii County Director of Education Philip Chirchir for further details.
She agreed that the matter was under investigation but did not reveal if the three teachers had reported to duty station.
Efforts to reach Chirchir were unsuccessful.
