The Governor of Kisii Simba Arati has urged the Members of Parliament (MPs) not to politicize proposed education reforms by the presidential task force but to support their efforts in tailoring education policy to the country’s needs.

Addressing the public in Kisii town, the Governor commended the Education Cabinet Secretary, Ezekiel Machogu, for his measured approach, which has brought stability to the Ministry of Education.

Additionally, he praised President William Ruto for his recent visit to the region emphasizing the importance of Technical and Vocational Training Institutes and launching the 72-kilometer Ogembo-Nyamasege-Omoringamu-Kenyenya road, which will connect several constituencies and boost regional business.

“We must learn from past political battles that hindered development and instead work with the government to secure resources for our county,” he emphasized.

The Governor mentioned that the presidential visit resulted in the commissioning of numerous roads that will enhance access to schools and ease the transportation of agricultural produce.

He also mentioned plans for improved housing and well-funded Technical Training Institutes in Suneka.
