Field Officers to be briefed on exam administration from October 2

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has scheduled a series of briefings and sensitization meetings for Field Officers who will be involved in the administration and management of the forthcoming national examinations.

In a memo seen by Education News dated September 9, 2023 signed by Principal Secretary (PS) for Basic Education Belio Kipsang’, Sub County Directors of Education (SCDEs) have been directed to select the venues for the meetings which will begin from October 2 to 6, 2023.

The SCDEs, who will brief the Field Officers, have further been instructed to invite Sub-County Examination Officers, Examination Officers in charge of the Containers, Deputy County Commissioners, Assistant County Commissioners (where applicable); KCPE, KPSEA, and KCSE Centre Managers; KPSEA, KCSE, and KCPE Supervisors; Sub County Police Commanders (SCPC), Security officers in-charge of Critical Infrastructure Protective Unit (CIPU), and TSC Sub County Directors.

The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has set the rehearsal date for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations for Friday, October 27, 2023.

KCPE and KPSEA exams will take place from October 30 to November 1, 2023

On the other hand, Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) rehearsals are set for Thursday, October 19, 2023 while the exams are scheduled to end on Friday, November 24, 2023 with the Physics practical paper.
