Meanwhile, Machogu urged qualified Kenyans to take advantage of the openings made available for the 30 Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC) applications and 32 primary teacher training colleges.

All students can know the universities and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions they have been placed by sending their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) index number starting with the year they sat the examination to 20842.

According to the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) which has released the 2023/2024 placement results, no space or slash (/) is supposed to be placed between the KCSE year and index number while sending the short message service (SMS) which is charged at Ksh.25 per every SMS.

The placement results will also be placed on the KUCCPS portal though by the time of publishing this story, none had been placed with the portal.

According to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu who released the placement results today July 31, 2023, at the Kenya School of Government; KUCCPS processed the applications of the 2022 KCSE cohort strictly based on choice and merit.

According to Machogu 870,561 candidates were eligible for placements in universities and colleges.

The applications, whose deadline is August 4, 2023 targets individuals who completed the KCSE examination between 2013 and 2022.

With the entry of KMTC into the KUCCPS fold, the placement service now places students in degree, diploma, certificate and artisan courses in 289 public training institutions and 30 private universities in Kenya.
