MCA disburses bursaries worth Ksh1.28M to 8 schools in Bungoma

Matulo ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) in Bungoma County, Stephen Simiyu has disbursed bursary cheques to various schools across Webuye west sub-county.

The first phase of the disbursement conducted on Wednesday will see hundreds of students from the area benefit from the bursaries.

Speaking during the exercise, Simiyu urged school principals not to send students home for fees and instead exercise patience as parents struggle to raise money for the same.

The schools that benefitted from the first phase include; Webuye DEB Secondary School – Ksh219,000; St. Mathews ACK Secondary School – Ksh144,000; St. Andrews Secondary School – Ksh297,000; Matulo Girls Secondary School – Ksh252,000; Friends Secondary School Malaha – Ksh162,000, Lugulu Day Secondary School – Ksh126,000, Bokoli Boys High – Ksh66,000 and Lugulu Girls – Ksh15,000; amounting to a total of Ksh1,281,000.
