A family in Wi-Rakuom village in Ndhiwa constituency, Homa Bay county is grieving after the death of a 15-year old boy who was electrocuted.
Castro Odhiambo, a Grade 7 pupil at Wi-Rakuom Primary School is reported to have died after he touched a live naked wire abandoned at the fence of a neighbouring house.
Assistant Chief Alphonse confirmed the incident and disclosed that Castro used a wooden rod to touch the wire when tragedy struck.
What followed were screams from the deceased after he was electrocuted, prompting his friends and family members to rush to the scene only to find him lying unconscious on the ground.
He was rushed to a private hospital in Rodi Kopany where he was pronounced dead.
The body is lain at Manyatta Kobodo Mortuary as the burial plans hit top gear.
