Plans underway to begin construction of Magemo TTI, MP says

Plans have been finalized to start construction of Magemo Technical Training Institute (TTI) in Webuye East, Bungoma county.

While speaking at Misikhu Catholic Church during the funds drive, area Member of Parliament (MP) Martin Wanyonyi said that he has already secured Ksh60 million from the national government to commence the construction.

Wanyonyi revealed that feasibility studies had shown that there was potential in the thickly populated constituency with only one medical training college and hundreds of students.

The first time lawmaker told area residents to cut down on education costs by enrolling their children in local institutions.

“Our graduates are youth who should not just end up here and that’s why we want to set a technical training institute to encourage our own students to register for the courses once they finish Form four,” he explained.

He further noted that the TTI will be well located with a conducive learning environment and asked the community to support and own the institution.
