Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has urged private investors in the education sector to continue initiating more modern projects in schools.
The legislator lauded their involvement and acknowledged that it was a challenge to invest millions and needed lots of patience and determination, in addition to financial and legislative support from government and lending institutions.
Speaking at the Frontier Pioneer School in Kipchebor, Kericho County during the ground-breaking ceremony of an Ultra Modern School, he urged schools in the county to introduce subjects related to Computer Studies saying the global market was shifting to Artificial Intelligence, Programming and Coding among other digital disciplines.
“We celebrate institutions that have adjusted their educational focus to subjects that are in high demand globally. That is the way to go,” he said.
Cheruiyot however noted there were few high-end schools in the county and welcomed other investors to invest in schools which will harness modern day technology.
“Our country needs schools which will produce children capable of providing solutions to current problems facing us.” He said.
