KUPPET Kilifi branch Executive Secretary Caleb Mogere has called upon the national government to disburse adequate funds for infrastructural development in secondary schools.

Speaking to Education News from Kilifi county, Mogere revealed that the availability of essential learning facilities such as classrooms and Science laboratories will enhance effective teaching and learning.

He added that many Junior Secondary Schools do not have the required learning facilities thus making it difficult for teachers to offer quality education.

“Dismal performance in national examinations mostly results from lack of physical learning facilities,” he said, further calling upon education stakeholders to work tirelessly to ensure they provide the necessary learning facilities in schools so that teachers can concentrate on curriculum delivery.

The executive secretary expressed concern on teacher shortage in the county and asked the government to employ more teachers to schools to end understaffing.
