Equity Bank kicked off the training of 1,238 students sponsored under Equity Bank’s Wings to Fly programme and Elimu Scholarship; on leadership skills in Kisii yesterday in an effort to complement the students’ education.
Group Director, Corporate Banking, Jackton Onyango said they are targeting students from Kisii, Migori, Homa Bay, Nyamira Counties and parts of Transmara sub counties in Narok County.
“The mentorship programme is meant to align values and leadership and it targets students in Form Three and Four under the sponsorship across the country,” Onyango said.
At the same time, the bank’s Kisii branch manager Robinson Mireri lauded the government for partnering with the bank in offering Elimu Scholarship, noting that it has helped orphans and children from poor families access education, complete and exploit their potential.
