The Ministry of Education has appointed John Tuwei as the substantive Director of Technical and Vocational Training (TVET). He replaces Tom Mulati who has been acting on the position for several years.
Until his appointment, Tuwei has been the Deputy Director in charge of Projects within the TVET sector.
According to his Curriculum Vitae, Tuwei holds a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Nairobi and a certificate in TVET Reforms from Chrisholm Institute of Technical and Further Education in Victoria, Australia.
Tuwei has also been a lecturer of Pharmaceuitical Chemistry and Science Laboratory technology at the Thika Training Institute.
Education News has reliably learnt that Mulati has been deployed to Ramogi Institute of Technology (RIAT) in Kisumu County as principal. He will to take over from Marren Omondi who is said to have retired recently.
Before his appointment as Acting Diretor for TVET, Mulati had been the Principal of Sigalagala National Polytechnic in Kakamega County.
