Governor adamant on removal of ousted Education CEC

CEC

Kajiado Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have rejected Governor Josepth Ole Lenku’s letter seeking to stop them from recommending the removal of his Education County Execute Committee (CEC) member.

On March 21, 2023 Jeremiah Ncharo, the Education, Vocational Training, Youth and Sports CEC was voted out of office by the MCAs, citing guidance of section 40 of the County Governments Act.

The section of the law referred to by the MCAs gives them powers to recommend the removal of the CECs found to have bridged the law.

The governor is reported to have said that Ncharo is going nowhere as long as he is still holding power at the county.

At the same time, Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has appointed three individuals to fill three remaining dockets at Kajiado County.

Among those nominated is Judy Pere supposed to fill the Trade, Investment, and Co-operatives CEC position and Janet Sereu who was nominated for the Gender, Culture, Tourism and Wildlife.

Jacktone Achola was nominated for Roads, Public Works, Transport and Energy.
