North Horr Member of Parliament, Wario Gude Adhe, spent the Easter holiday in a special way by planting over 2, 000 trees and fruit seedlings and broadcasted over 5,000 seed balls in Tiigo School, Turbi Ward in his constituency.
This was in effort to address climate change adaptation and mitigation effects.
The North Horr Constituency is the largest constituency in the country in terms of landmass which unfortunately is among the few areas hit hard by drought since it is situated in Marsabit County which is an arid region.
This is not the first time the MP has been at the fore front to offer humanitarian work to the region as before, even as a civil servant, he offered services through the Pastoralist Community Initiative Development and Assistance (PACIDA) that supports pastoralist households.
During the planting of the trees, he said that it will in some way improve rainfall in the region which will enable the people of Marsabit to be food secure, as the county has had to face food shortage and he is determined to make this a thing of the past.
At the same time, he has called on the potential partners, donors, and stakeholders to keep supporting each other to eradicate the situation of the region.
