KUPPET calls for more infrastructure, capacity building to implement CBC

By Hilda Atika

Kenya Union of Post Primary Education (KUPPET) Kakamega branch Executive Secretary Harrison Otota has urged the Ministry of Education to improve infrastructure in schools and train teachers to actualize the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).

Speaking to Education News in his office, Otota noted that infrastructure and capacity building is key to CBC implementation.

He urged members of the public to maintain serenity so as not to disturb Form Four candidates who are currently sitting their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

He further urged examiners and invigilators to be alert to curb cheating.

“Teachers should also maintain professionalism and let students do their national exams and be alert to curb cases of exam irregularities,” he said, further asking TSC to exercise due diligence when there are suspected allegations so that innocent teachers are not victimized.
