Machakos University students have blocked the Machakos-Wote road to demonstrate over the death of a student, Brilliant Anusu, who was shot by the police on Monday as students demonstrated over the high insecurity in the area that led to the death of another student.
Anusu died this morning while receiving treatment in hospital where he was in the Intensive Care Unit.
Police have lobbed teargas canisters in a bid to disperse the students in vain.
On Monday, Governor Wavinya Ndeti promised to ensure security prevails and cases of robbery with violence are dealt with.
